Sacristan's house next to the Church of St. Trije Kralji in Slovenske gorice, in the Municipality of Benedikt, is a building whose construction dates back to the year 1521. This beauty now serves as a venue for ceremonial events such as civil weddings, mayoral receptions, and other celebrations.
Visiting the Sacristan's house by the Church of St. Trije Kralji is a special experience for all lovers of historical, cultural, sacral, and architectural tourism. The building, constructed in the characteristic “L” shape, is around 500 years old! In 2021, it underwent a complete renovation under the careful supervision of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage. Preserved within it are a traditional “black kitchen” and an event hall for 50 guests, which reveals the building’s structural layers. The original sandstone walls are excellently preserved, the wooden windows include hand-forged elements, while the doors and other furniture pieces have been restored to enrich the interior. The building also features a vaulted cellar, where local winemakers offer excellent wines from the Podravje winegrowing sub-region of Slovenske gorice.
Sacristan's house is intended for ceremonial events such as civil weddings and other festivities. Guided tours can also be arranged, including tastings of local specialties such as kiblflajš (meat preserved in lard), homemade bread, klecnprot (fruit bread), pumpkin seed oil, and regional wines.
