Destrnik Municipality
Elsbaher’s Štok
It stands on the ridge of Placarski Vrh. This cellar-built, raised-ground-floor building of rectangular plan, covered with a steep, double-pitched hipped brick roof, has an articulated façade. The façade is defined by window surrounds, a profiled eaves cornice, and emphasized corner quoins. The entrance is reached via a staircase and a veranda. Once richly designed, the veranda was glazed with colored glass. The vineyard cottage has the typical layout of a winegrower’s building: a large vaulted wine cellar, a residential section, and a larger room where a wooden wine press once stood. The building is an example of a richly appointed manor-style vineyard cottage from the 19th century. Its value lies in the preserved exterior and original interior, with high-quality joinery and individual preserved details. It is also distinguished by its dominant position on the ridge. The building is uninhabited.
