Synagogue Maribor

Maribor Synagogue is the building of a former synagogue located at Židovska ulica 4 in Maribor. It is one of the oldest preserved synagogues in Europe. Since 2011, it has operated as an independent public institution under the name Center for Jewish Cultural Heritage – Maribor Synagogue, dedicated to researching, studying, presenting and promoting Jewish cultural heritage. Housed in Maribor’s former medieval Jewish synagogue, it organises a range of themed temporary exhibitions and diverse cultural events, and also provides educational programmes as part of its activities. Since 2015, it has held the status of a cultural monument of national significance.
