Welcome!
When the traveller arrives at the foot of the Boč foothills, in the heart of the Dravinja River, the rich natural and cultural heritage itself invites him to stop and get to know the precious pearls of the past and natural heritage that we have been entrusted with preserving and that are the pride of the local people living here.
The municipality of Poljčane was split off from the then municipality of Slovenska Bistrica in 2006 and covers an area of 37.5 km2. When you look around, there are plenty of opportunities for active leisure. The unspoilt nature of the Dravinja valley with its Natura 2000 and protected areas, the slopes of Boč on the right and the populated hilly countryside to the left of the Dravinja river combine to create a picture of a place that is given substance by its local culinary offer, catering providers, numerous local associations and events. Among the more important events, which are already traditional, are the Studenice Summer Evening, the St Martin's March through the Studenice wine-growers' cottages, the traditional concert of the Janko Živko Poljčane Wind Ensemble and the Living Nativity Scene in Studenice.

We recommend visiting:
